This august was fun for everyone in the troop. We were all looking forward to Camp Squanto and getting some merit badges and hanging out with friends for the whole week.
After arriving at the main gate at around 1 o’clock Sunday morning we were all ready to have fun and earn some merit badges along the way.So after going through the medical lines and the swim test we were ready to eat dinner. After being stuffed with turkey and mashed potatoes we waddled over to our site and set up in our tents and headed over to the Parade Field to go for the ounselor’s Greeting. After that we were all ready to hit the hay.
The next morning we new was going to be a long one.Getting in to the routine would take a little time and getting up went a little slow at first but once we got into the swing of things and when we were up a little longer we got right to work with our morning chores. Then we went to all our merit badges and had to hustle back for our Troop Activity: Archery and 22. Rifle shooting.Once we ran out of arrows and bullets we went back to the site to split for ether patrol activity or Camp Wide Swim. Then it was evening colors then dinner.
Wednesday night was Theme Night! and we all couldn’t wait to put on our costumes and do some challenges. However we wernt so good as we thought so it took us time to finish some of the challenges until three other troops finished before us.We made that up though Thursday night when we won the APACHE RELAY! with the hard work from all the scouts we were able to win due to teamwork, commitment, and dedication to the relay. After the app achy relay some scouts celebrated by buying almost all the soda in the vending machine and we all got free ice cream after and special thanks to Mrs. Hemp hill for supplying us with the ice cream.
The last full day at Camp Squanto want a downer, most of us finished up our merit badges with barely any parches and with all of us satisfied with the week we had in one of our highlights of our year. Al thou we were all sad to go we all new there is always next year to look forward to.
